Abstract:
This paper introduced the DMT equipment, testing method in determining soil foundation parameters for constructive designs and soft-soil treatment that such as: material index (ID), horizontal stress index (K0), dilatometer modulus (E), shear strength (Su), pore water pressure coefficient (U), horizontal consolidation coefficient (Ch), over consolidation ratios (OCR), etc. Based on results of soil testes in Vung Ang industrial zone using DMT, uniaxial and triaxial compression tests, vane shear tests (VST), cone penetration test (CPT), pressuremeter test (PMT) at the same depth, it is proposed that capacities in use of the DTM is compatible with the uniaxial and triaxial compression tests, CPT, and VST. Foundation calculations using different formulas that indicates the Marchetti’s one has the most suitable result
