Abstract:
The North Nam Xe rare earth deposit belongs to Nam Xe commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province which has a large resource of rare earth metals in Vietnam. The North Nam Xe rare earth deposit contents complicated minerals which includes about 80 difference minerals. Besides rare earth elements, the North Nam Xe deposit even contents some radioactive elements such as uranium, thorium, niobium and so on, which are directly related to rare earth forming. Study on the baseline environmental compositions as air, water and soil at the deposit plays an important signification for the environmental protection and it is a base data to service the activities as environmental impact assessment, mining design and environmental reclamation programs during mining and mine closure progress. The report presents a study result of air component assessment which mentioned to radioactive environment on the air of the North Nam Xe rare earth deposit.
