Abstract:

The paper proposes the application of a reference system which is suitable for horizontal control networks used in engineering surveying, allowing minimization of reductions used to reduce distances from ellipsoid to grid. Coordinates of points on horizontal networks are therefore defined so that they are mostly coincident with those on the surface of the Earth. The system of equations for choosing suitable coordinate system and level of the grid using Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projection has been assessed through the experiment. The basis showed in the paper is logical and the equations used for computing reductions of observations are established based on theoretical analysis and easily applied in reality
