Abstract:
Beam flipping accidents that cause damage usually happen among the beams with a narrow rectangular cross section, large size, and heavy weight. This article shows how to calculate the load and internal forces when beams bear bending disadvantage and are twisted by flipping incident. On the basis of the results obtained, designers and constructors may select suitable solutions.
