Abstract:

During of drilling the wells in low pressure conditions, the hydrostatic pressure in the well exceeds the limit of reservoir pressure leading to loss of drilling mud. To avoid this phenomenon, it should improve the quality and properties of drilling mud, especially reducing the density of drilling mud to create a balance of the reservoir pressure and hydrostatic pressure, thus reducing costs of well workover and maintenance job, increasing the longevity of well and improving the efficiency of production. This is the reason why the current study focuses on producing drilling mud with the light density for drilling in the low pressure reservoir. As the results, the article introduces the lightweight drilling mud using glass bubbles additive and proposes the formular of drilling mud for the low pressure reservoir.
