Abstract:

Currently, Cao Son surface coal mine is mining deeper, the volume of waste rock which needs to be broken by blasting, and also the volume of loading and hauling is increasing. In order to ensure the mining capacity and improve production efficiency, the paper presents the research results, the empirical surveys, and assessing results of the influence of fragment size distribution in the muckpile on the effectiveness of shovel loading at Cao Son surface coal mine. Through the evaluation results, one can adjust the blasting designs to achieve the most optimal results, adequate fragment sizes in accordance with technical parameters of shovels and other mining equipments at mine sites, contributing to the improvement of economic efficiency for the company, in particular and the development of our coal industry, in general
