Abstract:

In tectonic studies Euler angular velocity describes relative motion of the tectonic plates across the Earth’s surface. This report presents and explains theoretical basics of the estimation of Euler pole parameters using horizontal velocities at a set of GNSS stations. Using the observed velocities on GNSS geodynamic network in Vietnam (2012-2015) the author at first estimated values of Euler rate of rotation of 0.35°/Myr, longitude of -92.1°E, and latitude of Euler pole of 36.5°N for Sundaland block
