Abstract:
The application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and terrestrial laser scanning in the 3D model establishment is increasingly being used widely in the world as well as in Vietnam. However, the combination of these two technologies for enhancing the efficiency of data collection from the ground to the high is still new in our country. The main aim of this paper is to use terrestrial laser scanning data to improve the efficiency of the UAV data and the automation process, and to build the 3D models from these data sources. More specifically, the study was designed to address the following contents: (1) Improving the quality of 3D model by the combination of UAV technology and terrestrial laser scanning; (2) Establishing a combined process of 3D model from point cloud data of terrestrial laser scanner and UAV data; (3) Experimentation of 3D model establishment in the Chua Lang area (Hanoi) from data of Faro X330 scanning device and UAV Phantom 4 Pro UAV; (4) Evaluation of accuracy and conclusions of technology advantages and disadvantages.
