Recently, major types of earth resources like metallic, nonmetallic, water and soil energy and their impacts on the environment have become crictical issues of worldwide interest. Particularly, mining technology and its rapid progression have been playing a pivotal role in the development of each country. In this context, the special issue “Sustainable and Responsible Mining” of  the Journal of Mining and Earth Sciences, published by Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG),  to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Department of Mining Surface, HUMG in October, 2020.
