Abstract:

Nghe An is one of the provinces in Vietnam that have high potential of tin ore. Chau Tien Commune, Quy Hop District is a typical area of Nghe An Province. The primary tin ore in Thung Pu Bo was form by hydrothermal solution filled up marble fractures and/or was disseminated in biotite-quartz and graphite-biotite-quartz schists of the Bu Khang Formation. The mineralization concentrates on two distinctive zones. The zone I is characterized by minerals disseminated in schists in between two marble layers. The mineralization pattern is discontinuous, unpredictable and the ore body thickness in variable. The Sn grade is relatively low, which varies from 0.04% to 1.53%. The ore mineral composition comprises cassiterite, pyrite, graphite, less chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, and scorodite. The Zone II contains hydrothermal ore filled in fractured marble. Sn content ranges from 0.04% to 2.54%. The ore minerals consist of casiterite, pyrite, less pyrotine and goethite, major rock-forming mineral is quartz
