Abstract:

The paper presents a new method to determine the crossover location of the satellite altimetry data by applying the quadratic polynomial equation. In the method, both descending and ascending track of the satellite altimetry are modeled by using quadratic a polynomial equations. The estimated point of the crossover location is a root of the system of above quadratic equations. The exact location of the crossover location is determined based on the four nearest points. The case study was applied to compute for the East Sea which is based on data obtaining from ENVISAT altimetry of the 81st cycle
