Abstract:

Delay blasting is used as the method for effectively controlling of explosive energy by creating the resonance of stress field, extending the time of blasting action, increasing the loading times, creating new faces and improving of fragmentation when moving the rocks. The new face creates the reflection of tensile wave in the rock mass which is blasted by the next explosive charge and therefore this phenomenon creates favorable condition for blasting the rock and increases the breaking strength of explosive”. The previous studies have only focused on the determination of delay times for traditional blasting accessories and did not focus on the characteristics of modern blasting accessories.
