Abstract:

Aquatic plant system is one of the natural methods for municipal wastewater treatment. It is environmental friendly method can achieve high performance with low operating costs, and can increase biodiversity value and improve landscape. Products can be used directly or after processing as soil additives, fertilizer, pulp and fiber for paper making, animal feed, biogas production and human food. In this research, author using water hyacinth is a main aquatic plants kind to treat wastewater by building a aquatic pond model. During operating time water of the influent and effluent were analised polluted parameter as SS, COD, BOD5, TP, TN... The results show that, quality of wastewater after reactor reaches a level of Vietnamese standard QCVN 14: 2008/BTNMT and QCVN 40: 2011/BTNMT. Treatment efficiency for suspended solids reached 90-95%; COD, BOD5 reached 70%; TP reached 61% and TNK reached 75%.
