Innovating of groundwater reserve assessment in Vietnam

Abstract:
Assessment of groundwater reserves plays an very important role in groundwater resources management, exploitation and protection. This paper presents some limittations of dynamical groundwater reserves and exploitation groundwater reserves assessment in Vietnam and proposed some methods for improving the accuracy of calculation of groundwater reserves. Dynamic reserves in mountain areas are better estimate by using hydrograpth or sum of outflows, meanwhile for porous aquifer in delta areas, numerical modeling is the best choice to estimate dynamic reserves. In case of exploitation reserve estimation of areas, sum of entrainment reserve and 0.3 to 0.7 of dynamic reserve should be calculated. Finaly, for exploitation of wells, a coupled of hydraulics and hydrodynamic method should be applied with related time and pumping rate of wells.
