Abstract:

The floodplain area located in An Giang and Dong Thap provinces is largely influenced by the fluctuation of water level and seasonal change of the Tien and Hau rivers. In the wet season, the delta landform and vegetated areas are covered with water, and vice versa in the dry season. Those land cover changes provides significant information required for mitigating the impact of climate change and sea level rise, and sustainable development. The achievement of remote sensing data for detecting wetlands during the wet season is to provide the land cover changes corresponding with spectral reflectance value changes. We used serial Sentinel - 2 data with 10 m spatial resolution and twelve spectral bands for six dates during one year flood pulse of 2016 to estimate the land cover changes of vegetated area. The purpose of paper aims to monitor the vegetated change based on the spectral reflectance value changes while the floodwater level varies. The primary results indicate that the vegetated area decrease when the water level values increase. Other vegetated changes ofthe cultivation areas are due to local flooding and faming calendar in agriculture
