Abstract:

This article focus on the research of geospatial query ability in Database Management System SQL Server 2014. SQL Server supports basic spatial functions provided by OGC like STLength(), STArea(), STDistance() and the feature of displaying maps data without using some map editing software like ArcGIS or MapInfo. With the result of testing queries on map of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City using SQL Server 2014, the article showed that this is a well manageable Spatial Database Management System and suitable for the users in queries of spatial database
