Abstract:

This article introduces research/studies results obtained by the application of traditional and the lastest methods to predict the depth occurresce and assess the prospect of lead and zinc ores in Chợ Đon - Cho Đien area. The results of the study draw the following conclusions: (1) The factors controlling and involving lead - zinc ore mineralization in the research area are magma, tectonic structure and stratigraphic lithosphere; (2) In the research area, the Sb, Ag, Cd, Cu elements are closely related to Pb and Zn. To find zinc lead ore in the area by geochemical method, in addition to Pb, Zn needs to use the combination of elementary indications is Sb, Ag, Cd, Cu. That most of the ore zone (ore bodies) have the degree of denudation from the middle part to the upper part. Using a two-dimensional statistical method to determine the correlation between the ore - forming elements and the depth of ore occurrences in the area and to permit the prediction of the ore's depth; (3) Results from equation of regression show that lead-zinc ore is mainly concentrated from cost + 900m to cost+ 770m (upper surface) and from cost +770 m deep up to cost + 300 m (hidden ore, deep) or deeper. Two - dimensional statistical method was used to determine the correlation between the ore-forming elements and the depth of ore occurrences in the area and to permit the prediction of the ore's depth. Research results show that lead - zinc ore is mainly concentrated from + 900m to + 770m (surface) and from +770 m deep (hidden ore, deep) up to + 300m or deeper; (4) The results of hidden ore resources forecast by quantitative forecasting method (from the depth of 100 - 500m compared to the current terrain in each area, respectively from the cost + 770m to cost + 300m) in the area. The research area is about 2,831 - 3,082 thousand tons (Pb + Zn), corresponding to the surface that has been investigated and explored, mainly concentrated in Phia Khao - Bo Pen, LaPointe - Lung Hoai - Man - Suoc, Binh Chai - Cao Binh, Bo Luong - Đeo; next is Lung Chay - Suoi Teo - Khuoi Khem, Ba Bo và Phu Sap.
